Description For Senior Systems Engineer

As a Senior Systems Engineer on the Modeling, Simulation, and Training Tools (MST) team, you will be part of a team that contributes to every stage of the Disney attraction life cycle, from Blue Sky to Sustainment. You'll build detailed engineering models used to provide simulation and analysis services internationally for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), Park Operations Line of Business, Transportation, Engineering Services, Entertainment, and other Global Engineering & Technology partners.

The role involves developing system-level simulations of rides and attractions, Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) or Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) software design/testing platforms, multi-agent simulations, large-scale transportation simulations, in-house engineering software tools, statistical analysis applications, and virtual training systems.

You'll work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with creative teams to bring Disney magic to life through engineering excellence. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $126,100 to $154,100 per year, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and other perks.

Responsibilities For Senior Systems Engineer

  • Develop and maintain detailed systems level and functional level physics-based simulations
  • Develop and maintain applications and drivers that communicate with control system hardware
  • Support efforts for analysis and review process for new proposed engineering software tools
  • Develop and present optimized design options for existing and proposed attractions
  • Partner with Walt Disney Imagineering for attraction simulation development
  • Work with Industrial Engineering in verifying ride or attraction performance
  • Apply and develop supporting software tools

Requirements For Senior Systems Engineer

Python
  • 5+ years of experience in a related role in the entertainment or general engineering industries
  • Proficiency in an object-oriented coding language, preferably C++ and/or C#
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with PLC hardware, programming, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Agile software development practices
  • Understanding of source control tools
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Equivalent
  • Excellent physics and mathematics academic background
