Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Ad Platforms team, focusing on building and maintaining industry-leading ad technology and products. Responsibilities For Software Engineer II

  • Build components of large-scale data platform for real-time and batch processing
  • Build next-gen cloud based big data infrastructure
  • Contribute to best engineering practices, including design patterns, CI/CD, code review and automated testing
  • Contribute to software lifecycle: design, experimentation, implementation and testing
  • Collaborate on software architectures which are robust, fault-tolerant, and cloud-native
  • Deliver multiple projects utilizing an Agile methodology
  • Write complex programs, analyze code changes and suggest improvements
  • Investigate and resolve production issues
  • Work with leads, product managers, service teams to ensure project deliverables

  • 3+ years of experience in big data application development

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies
  • Knowledge of building highly available and scalable services
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with Spark, Flink, Singlestore, Kafka, Nifi and AWS big data technologies
