The Search and Entertainment Platform Services team at Disney is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their dynamic team responsible for powering content discovery experiences across major Disney brands including ESPN, ABC News, National Geographic, Marvel Unlimited, and other domestic and international Disney properties.

This role sits at the intersection of technology and entertainment, where you'll be building data pipelines and core data services to enhance search features and personalization for millions of users. The team faces the exciting challenge of maintaining low latency and high availability at scale, using cutting-edge technology to support a rapidly growing customer base.

As a Software Engineer II, you'll be deeply involved in the full software development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include architectural planning, solution design, code development, and production deployment. The role requires close collaboration with engineers, project managers, and product managers to craft optimal solutions for Disney's guests.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of experience building highly available architectures and a strong background in Java backend development. You should be comfortable with AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly OpenSearch, and have experience with modern development practices including CI/CD, monitoring tools, and agile methodologies.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $114,900 to $161,300 depending on location and experience, plus potential bonuses and long-term incentives.
