Description For Software Engineer II - Site Reliability Engineer

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Software Engineer II - Site Reliability Engineer to join their Product & Data Engineering team. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between development and operations for Disney's world-class streaming platforms including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.

The position sits within the Hulu Discovery team, building systems that provide data at scale. You'll be responsible for implementing reliable, high-request services that deliver data powering the Hulu user experience across web, mobile, and living room devices. The role involves working with infrastructure as code, managing deployments, ensuring observability, and maintaining testing platforms.

As part of Disney's media business transformation, you'll be working on systems that help manage IaC templates, facilitate quick and safe deployments, build observability for services, manage capacity across hundreds of services, and help teams observe and manage service costs. The position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while serving millions of consumers worldwide.

The role combines technical expertise with collaborative teamwork, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You'll be joining a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you can make a significant impact on how audiences experience sports, entertainment & news.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer II - Site Reliability Engineer

  • Improve and maintain CI/CD systems and process by designing and developing automation for build/test/deploy
  • Ensure the quality of services by improving and maintaining test automation platforms
  • Manage infrastructure as code and mentor teams
