The Sr. Media Systems Engineer is an expert engineer in the acquisition, production, and distribution of media content. They are well-versed in multiple technical standards and have hands-on experience in both the sustainment and design/build of production systems. The Sr. Media Systems Engineer primarily focuses on architecting, designing, and constructing the varied technical platforms that power our linear and digital platforms.
Responsibilities include:
- Architect, design, source, and construct media technology environments
- Resolve issues affecting acquisition, production, and content distribution
- Analyze and troubleshoot streaming audio/video signals in traditional SDI and IP 2110 essence flow routing environments
- Analyze and troubleshoot cloud platforms as necessary
- Manage third-party service providers
- Develop long-range plans for future media technology needs
- Provide operational support for audio and video production/distribution systems
- Participate in engineering projects and system upgrades
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in media production and distribution
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell, C or C++)
- Knowledge of SMPTE standards, cloud infrastructure, compression techniques, and major media systems
- Experience with IP-based broadcast equipment and various production systems
