Sr QA Engineer

This Sr. Quality Engineering role, working as a test lead for DCL solutions in Crew & Sea Ware, is responsible for having a strong focus leading a product from conception to delivery quickly and efficiently with a high level of quality and polish. This role will be highly collaborative and ensure testing strategies and plans between mobile studios meets QE quality and standards. There is a high expectation on designing and developing manual and automated test solutions to verify and validate functionality, performance, stability and usability of critical software systems developed by the Engineering team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Utilizing existing or establishing repeatable automation engineering processes
• Providing estimates of automation efforts and capacity planning in an agile environment
• Establishing and optimizing automation engineer resource plans
• Surfacing and driving to resolution technical risks and issues
• Establishing expected productivity targets and implementing velocity improvements
• Establishing and driving proactive automation maintenance processes
• Establishing and optimizing coding practices and leading code reviews
• Providing hands-on leadership in establishing and optimizing automation frameworks
• Leveraging standard tools like Jira, Microfocus ALM, QTest and Jira
• Mentoring team members in agile, quality engineering, automation, and CI/CD
• Partnering with cross-discipline peers to improve the software development process
• Leading the creation of QA documentation and technical documentation
• Managing test planning development and test execution to schedule and budget
• Creating improvements in test architecture, design and strategy
• Providing solutions to complex problems and setting processes for the team
• Maintaining a high level of domain knowledge and effective knowledge transfer
• Operating independently while elevating status, risks, and issues to leadership
• Auditing test cases/scripts for quality and compliance
• Ensuring the Quality Assurance team follows testing standards and methodology
• Developing broad technical solutions and leading examination of software systems
• Performing complex QA projects, tasks, and bug fixes
• Analyzing data requirements and defining routines for test data creation
• Analyzing infrastructure requirements and defining automation for validation
