The Core Data & Services team within the DEET organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build out the codebase that powers their foundational datasets and data pipelines. As a key member of the team, you'll be responsible for building and refining shared Scala libraries to enable efficient reusable components across multiple deployments and produce foundational data for Disney's streaming business.
The role involves working with critical infrastructure that enables dozens of engineering and analytical teams to unlock the power of data to drive key business decisions. You'll be expanding, scaling, and standardizing core foundational principles through consistent coding best practices, observability, lineage, data quality, logging, and alerting across all engineering teams.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of software engineering experience with data pipelines, strong algorithmic problem-solving skills, and expertise in Scala and Python. You should be comfortable working with distributed systems like Spark and Kafka, and have experience with orchestration tools like Airflow.
