Embrace is seeking a senior UI & SDK Web engineer to join their Web Observability team, focusing on both dashboard UI development using React and TypeScript, and their Web RUM SDK built on OpenTelemetry. This unique position combines product development with observability infrastructure, perfect for engineers who excel in both frontend component design and open-source SDK development. The role involves working on internal tools, developer-facing dashboards, and high-performance instrumentation libraries. You'll collaborate with the OpenTelemetry community and help shape web observability standards. As a remote-first company, Embrace offers flexibility while maintaining regular team connections through quarterly in-person meetings. The ideal candidate should be proficient in TypeScript, React, and browser internals, with experience in SDK development and a strong testing mindset.
Responsibilities For UI & SDK Web Engineer
- Contribute to both the dashboard UI and Embrace Web SDKs
- Build performance monitoring and diagnostics tools for modern web applications
- Help shape SDK design and upstream contributions to OpenTelemetry
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- Partner with Customer Success to incorporate feedback
- Establish best practices for code quality, modularity, testing, and observability
Requirements For UI & SDK Web Engineer
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript, including advanced type system features
- Strong experience with React and modern frontend architectures
- Familiarity with browser internals (e.g., performance APIs, Web Vitals, event loop behavior)
- Experience building or maintaining client-side SDKs or instrumentation tools
- Strong advocate for testing, with experience using tools like Jest and Playwright/Cypress
- Comfort debugging and optimizing both applications and libraries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using Git and modern CI/CD workflows
