Service Operations Engineer

Fluence is seeking a Service Operations Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, India. This role is the first point of contact for issue resolution of customer's energy storage sites. The Remote Service Operations Engineer (RSOE) ensures the availability of assets by managing incidents and completing issue resolutions in a timely manner. This includes responsive reactive maintenance and planned preventive infrastructure maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Remote ownership of large-scale energy storage sites
• Working on a 24/7 rotational shift from the Bangalore office
• Responding to customer calls and alarms
• Coordinating reactive and preventive maintenance activities
• Providing remote diagnostic, troubleshooting, and technical support
• Maintaining safety culture and accurate records of site activities
• Identifying and implementing process improvements

The ideal candidate should have:

• An undergraduate degree (BSEE, BSME, BSCE) or Licensed Electrician certification
• At least 2 years of experience in electric utility or independent power producer roles
• Experience with bi-directional inverters, HVAC, and high voltage DC systems
• Strong remote troubleshooting skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, SCADA, and MODBUS
• Linux operating system experience (Red Hat/Fedora, Ubuntu, or Debian)
• Understanding of networking fundamentals
