Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing M&P best practices and materials testing infrastructure
- Operating equipment to measure material properties
- Generating and tracking quality metrics for printed customer parts
- Analyzing data and presenting key findings
- Collaborating with the process development team to improve printing processes
- Optimizing procedures for measuring and quantifying material quality
- Creating automation for M&P procedures
- Strategizing continuous improvement plans
The ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor's degree in material science, materials engineering, metallurgy, or mechanical engineering
- 7+ years of professional materials engineering experience (3+ years in metals)
- Experience with metallurgical sample preparation techniques
Additional desired qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in relevant field
- 10+ years of materials engineering experience
- Experience with metal additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) processes
- Process development experience
- Familiarity with statistical data analysis software
