Responsibilities For Database Administrator Advanced Engineer

  • Create, coordinate, and administer databases including base definition, structure documentation, operational guidelines, and security
  • Monitor project deliverables
  • Apply data management best practices and recommend improvements
  • Assist application support teams with third party application installations and upgrades
  • Perform advanced performance tuning
  • Support GameStop's consumer connectivity, customization, and commerce efforts

Requirements For Database Administrator Advanced Engineer

PostgreSQL
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related fields with 5 years experience, or Master's degree with 2 years experience
  • Experience with OLTP database tuning
  • SQL Server Transactional, merge and snapshot Replication experience
  • Experience with SQL Server 2008R2 through 2016
  • System health assessment skills
  • Query performance analysis and debugging
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Experience resolving locking, blocking, deadlocks and database contention issues
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices
  • Proficiency with SQL Server tools
  • Relational and dimensional data modeling expertise
  • Experience with SQL Server Failover clustering, Log shipping, replication and mirroring
  • Knowledge of Idera and Red Gate tools
  • SAN technologies and database storage best practices
  • Configuration management and version control experience
