Founding Engineer (NYC)

Gander is seeking a fourth founding engineer to build new products from 0 to 1. This is a critical role with significant equity and product ownership, based in-person in NYC.

Gander builds flight management software for the private aviation industry (private jets, drones, helicopters). Their tools and agents help operators track, manage, and monetize their fleets. The company is currently in stealth mode and has raised $1.5M from notable investors including YC & General Catalyst.

The tech stack includes Next.js, React, Vercel, and Supabase. The role involves:

• Creating high-quality software by transforming product requirements into beautiful, reliable solutions while leveraging code-gen tools
• Leading end-to-end technical execution with full ownership of the software development lifecycle
• Designing and implementing scalable system architecture that balances performance and reliability

The ideal candidate should have:

• Full-stack experience building all aspects of software from frontend to backend and cloud deployment
• Ability to quickly adapt and iterate based on customer needs
• Strong understanding of AI system implementation in SaaS products
• Eagerness to build AI agents

Additional valuable skills include:

• SQL database expertise
• Multi-tenant database design experience
• Web scraping capabilities
• React Native development
