GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Electricity Market Optimization Software Engineer to join their innovative team working on advanced power systems solutions. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of 8-15 professionals, including power systems, database, software, and optimization engineers, focusing on enhancing and supporting large-scale Electricity Market Management Systems (MMS).

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $106,400 - $133,000 USD annually, plus a 15% variable incentive compensation, along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in power systems and software engineering, making it ideal for candidates with both domain knowledge and programming skills.

As a senior engineer, you'll be responsible for leading software design, development, and integration efforts for Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Transmission System Operators (TSOs). The role demands expertise in Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP), electricity markets, and modern software development practices, including agile methodologies and DevOps principles.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or STEM field, with at least four years of relevant experience. You'll be expected to provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and work directly with customers to ensure project success. Responsibilities For Sr. Electricity Market Optimization Software Engineer

  • Define, develop, and evolve software in a fast-paced agile development environment
  • Provide domain knowledge and technical leadership to electricity markets application software engineers
  • Lead and contribute to electricity market application development
  • Write technical documentation including design notes and testing procedures
  • Provide budgetary estimates for new project tasks
  • Work with customers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Interact with Product Development Team, Customers, and Solution Providers

Requirements For Sr. Electricity Market Optimization Software Engineer

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with thesis or related work in power systems OR STEM Majors
  • Minimum 4 years experience in Electricity Markets, Security Constrained Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch
  • Strong understanding of Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP)
  • Experience with testing and test automation
  • Strong knowledge of source control management and GitHub
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Willing to travel 10-20% of the time
  • Must be willing to work out of Bothell, WA office if needed
