Description For Associate Automation Engineer

GEA is seeking an Associate Automation Engineer to join their extended team in India, focusing on producing and commissioning automation projects for pharmaceutical industry equipment. This role is based in the GEA Vadodara office, supporting the GEA UK Projects group and providing global support to other GEA Pharma Systems companies.

The position encompasses all aspects of control systems engineering, from requirement specification through design, testing, and commissioning. Working within an ISO 9001 quality environment, the role demands adherence to industry standards for documentation and quality expectations. The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering control systems for pharmaceutical processing equipment, including blending, granulating, drying, pelletizing, and coating systems.

GEA has been a prominent player in the pharmaceutical industry for over 50 years, providing both small-capacity R&D systems and industrial-scale plants for batch production under cGMP conditions. The company's approach combines proven standard components with user-selected process options, cleaning equipment, control systems, and PAT technologies to create tailored solutions while minimizing qualification and validation procedures.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills in PLC programming, HMI configuration, and control system testing, along with experience in the Life Sciences industry or similar process control environments. The role offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge automation technologies while contributing to the development of pharmaceutical manufacturing systems. Some international travel (20%) is required for project implementation and customer support.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to join a global leader in industrial automation and pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing, offering exposure to diverse projects and the chance to work with advanced control systems technologies.
