Description For Staff Full Stack Software Engineer– Quality Issue and Incident Management

General Motors is seeking a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join their Quality Issue and Incident Management team. This role is crucial in developing software applications that support Issue and Incident management business processes throughout the product development lifecycle. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with complex data requirements while implementing solutions using industry-standard methodologies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing software solutions based on detailed requirements and system specifications, while also overseeing development activities to ensure delivery of world-class capabilities aligned with GM's corporate objectives. This role provides the opportunity to make a significant impact on new applications while mentoring junior software engineers.

Working in a hybrid environment, you'll be expected to report to your primary work location (Austin, TX; Warren, MI; or Roswell, GA) three times per week. You'll be part of GM's vision for Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion, working with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, Quarkus, Java, Angular, and PostgreSQL.

Key responsibilities include leading GM's transition to cloud technologies, automating cloud infrastructure, optimizing costs, and ensuring code quality. You'll also play a crucial role in mentoring team members and maintaining technical documentation to GM standards. The position requires extensive experience in full-stack development, cloud platforms, and complex SQL queries.

  • Develop enterprise-grade applications using Kubernetes/Docker, Quarkus, Java, Angular, and PostgreSQL
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead GM's transition to cloud technologies
  • Automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
  • Lead cost optimization efforts
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to fellow software engineers
  • Navigate complex corporate environments to remove project roadblocks

Requirements For Staff Full Stack Software Engineer– Quality Issue and Incident Management
