Research Engineer, Product

At Google DeepMind, we're seeking a Research Engineer for our Product team. This role involves collaborating with various teams across Google/Alphabet to deploy advanced machine learning algorithms, improving Alphabet products and services. You'll work on high-impact real-world problems, rapid-prototyping initial concepts, and designing experiments to evaluate opportunities. The role offers a chance to see your work make a difference, with close mentorship from Applied leadership.

We're looking for candidates with:

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in computer science, mathematics, applied stats, machine learning, or similar industry experience
• Strong knowledge of Python, C++, and/or Java
• Experience with machine learning, statistics, and algorithm design
• Familiarity with TensorFlow or similar ML frameworks
• Experience with large transformer-based models, fine-tuning, and applying state-of-the-art audiovisual, language, and multimodal research
• Software engineering experience and work on large-scale ML projects
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
