Cloud Architect, Databases, Professional Services, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Cloud Architect to join their Professional Services team. This role involves guiding customers through their cloud journey, helping businesses thrive using Google's global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure. As a Cloud Architect, you will provide exceptional technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, and cloud-ready application architectures. You'll work closely with Product Management and Product Engineering to drive excellence in Google Cloud products and features.

Key responsibilities include:

• Translating complex customer requirements into solution architectures and advisory services
• Leading high-velocity migration and modernization to GCP
• Designing, migrating/building, and operationalizing data storage and processing infrastructure
• Developing and implementing data quality and governance procedures
• Managing project requirements and stakeholders

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 4 years of experience with automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, continuous integration, or delivery
• Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects
• Coding skills in languages like Python, Java, Go, C or C++
• Knowledge of data warehouses, Big Data, Machine Learning, and internet-scale production-grade solutions
• Familiarity with encryption techniques and key management systems
• Experience with IaC and CICD tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins
• Expertise in building multi-tier, high availability applications with modern technologies
