Description For Data Center Services Manager

Google is seeking a Data Center Services Manager to support the construction and operations of their expanding footprint. This role is responsible for the delivery and execution of data center construction in the central portion of North America, as well as Moves, Add, Retrofits, Changes, and Security (MARCUS) projects in the region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in program or project management, mission-critical facilities, and design-build or real estate development environments.

As part of the Technical Infrastructure team, you'll be working behind the scenes to keep Google's product portfolio running smoothly. This involves developing and maintaining data centers, building next-generation Google platforms, and ensuring networks are up and running for the best user experience.

Key responsibilities include interacting with external stakeholders, aligning teams around project delivery strategies, providing leadership to internal teams, and developing a customer service-oriented organization. You'll be managing a team of Program Managers and Engineers overseeing large-scale construction projects as part of a global program.

Responsibilities For Data Center Services Manager

  • Interact regularly with leadership from key external stakeholders, trades, commissioning agents to develop understanding of project issues, risks, and opportunities across multiple functions
  • Align teams around an understanding of project delivery strategy, key functional milestones, and workflow for large capital improvement and greenfield projects
  • Provide leadership and development focus to internal teams consisting of project management and engineering roles
  • Develop an organization with a customer service orientation to key internal stakeholders

Requirements For Data Center Services Manager

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management
  • 8 years of experience in mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, chip fab, etc.)
  • 8 years of experience in the design-build or real estate development environment
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role
