This role focuses on developing cutting-edge TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) technology that powers Google's most demanding AI/ML applications. You'll be part of a team pushing boundaries in custom silicon solutions, contributing to products used by millions worldwide. The position involves leading complex technical projects from conception to completion, developing AI/ML-based tools for chip design, and driving end-to-end chip design process improvements. Working within the ML, Systems & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization, you'll help design and manage hardware and software infrastructure for Google services and Cloud customers. The role combines expertise in ASIC chip design, hardware electronic design automation, and programming skills to deliver innovative solutions for Google's next-generation hardware development.
Responsibilities For EDA/CAD Custom Tool Development Engineer, Google Cloud
- Partner with the Google Deepmind team to incorporate AI/ML techniques in chip design methodology
- Partner with Chip Project teams to influence and standardize methodology across projects
- Propose, design, and implement software automation addressing bottlenecks in ASIC and SoC EDA flow
- Lead the development of internal software tools and automation efforts
- Work directly with hardware team on projects-prototype and deploy tools
Requirements For EDA/CAD Custom Tool Development Engineer, Google Cloud
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in ASIC Chip Design
- 5 years of experience with hardware electronic design automation tools
- Experience in Python/C++ programming
- Experience in writing code and design practices
