Google is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join their Trust & Safety team, focusing on Messages Spam and Abuse. This role combines technical expertise in data analysis with security and anti-abuse initiatives to protect Google's users and infrastructure. The position requires strong analytical skills, programming knowledge (Python, SQL), and experience in fraud/abuse investigation.

The role involves working globally with Google Engineers and Product Managers to combat online safety challenges, spam, and fraud. As part of Google's Trust & Safety team, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of experts including Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers to reduce risk and fight abuse across all Google products, protecting users, advertisers, and publishers worldwide.

Key responsibilities include analyzing emerging trends, developing anti-abuse solutions, building monitoring systems, and leading cross-functional projects. You'll work on sophisticated abuse detection systems, leverage machine learning models, and develop reputation-based protection mechanisms.

Responsibilities For Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

  • Analyze emerging trends, conduct data analysis, and identify new signals to develop solutions for scaled enforcement
  • Develop an understanding of abuse in messaging, current cross-product workflows, and available intelligence
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design and build anti-abuse protections leveraging reputation at all levels
  • Build, monitor and alert dashboards to track abuse levels, perform quality checks
  • Lead projects to prevent Google's infrastructure from being abuse, harm, or fraud

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Experience with data analysis and database management (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.)
