Description For Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join their Messages Spam and Abuse team. This role combines technical expertise in data analysis and security with a mission to make the internet safer. You'll work globally with Google Engineers and Product Managers to combat abuse and fraud across Google's messaging products.

The position requires strong analytical skills, with a focus on identifying trends and developing solutions for scaled enforcement. You'll leverage data analysis tools like SQL and Python to build anti-abuse protections, monitor system effectiveness, and lead projects that protect Google's infrastructure from harm.

Responsibilities For Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

  • Analyze emerging trends, conduct data analysis, and identify new signals to develop solutions for scaled enforcement
  • Develop an understanding of abuse in messaging, current cross-product workflows, and available intelligence
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design and build anti-abuse protections leveraging reputation at all levels
  • Build, monitor and alert dashboards to track abuse levels, perform quality checks
  • Lead projects to prevent Google's infrastructure from being abuse, harm, or fraud

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Experience with data analysis and database management (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.)
