Description For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join their mission of protecting users and partners across Google's product ecosystem. This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to combat abuse and fraud in products like Google Photos and Google One. The position requires strong analytical skills, programming capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration to develop and implement counter-abuse strategies.

As an Engineering Analyst in Trust & Safety, you'll work with state-of-the-art Machine Learning systems and robust rules to protect against malware, phishing, violent extremism, hate speech, and misinformation. You'll collaborate with various teams including User Protections, Trust and Safety Workspace, Trust and Safety Youtube, and Account Security teams to ensure comprehensive protection across Google's platforms.

The role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on user safety and product integrity while working with cutting-edge technology. You'll be responsible for identifying trends, developing metrics, and implementing solutions to complex abuse challenges. The position requires both technical skills in data analysis and programming, as well as strong communication abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety

  • Work with cross-functional teams across the company, identify new trends, vulnerabilities and influence company-wide direction and strategies in the Counter-Abuse space
  • Work within Google Photos and Google One to set processes and priorities alongside cross-functional teams to set and reach trust, safety and sustainability goals at a Product Area (PA) level
  • Define, implement and monitor key abuse metrics, initiate and lead mitigation efforts to address any concerning trends
  • Identify operational and tooling improvements to Counter-Abuse processes to improve quality, precision, recall and turn-around-time
  • Work with Engineering to develop advanced solutions and ML algorithms to improve protection coverage and be resilient to changes in trends

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
