Description For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety, Payments

Google's Trust and Safety team is responsible for protecting users by ensuring online safety and fighting web abuse and fraud across Google products. As an Engineering Analyst in Trust and Safety for Payments, you will be responsible for managing and mitigating payment fraud and abuse for Google products and services.

Your role involves investigating fraud and abuse incidents, identifying patterns and trends, and generating holistic risk management solutions. You'll perform statistical analysis using payments and risk data warehouses, collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to create and enhance tools, develop signals, and improve system functionality, accuracy, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting user trust and safety by managing payment fraud and abuse
  • Investigating fraud incidents and identifying patterns
  • Performing statistical analysis and collaborating on tool development
  • Assessing risk and vulnerability of products and features
  • Designing and implementing fraud mitigation strategies
  • Participating in on-call rotation for escalations

You'll need strong analytical and technical skills, experience in data analysis or data science, project management skills, and knowledge of SQL. Experience in the Payments industry, risk or fraud management, and familiarity with statistical analysis, machine learning, and programming languages are preferred.

Requirements For Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety, Payments

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis or data science
  • 2 years of experience managing projects
  • Experience with SQL
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and Machine Learning libraries
  • Programming skills (e.g., Python, C/C++)
  • Excellent project and program management skills
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
