Description For Firmware Engineer, Modem IP Multimedia Subsystem Protocol

Google's Pixel team is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join their innovative mobile technology division. This role focuses on the development, customization, and enhancement of IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)/Telephony features for Android devices. As part of the team that shapes the future of Pixel devices, you'll work closely with Software teams and chipset vendors to ensure optimal performance and integration.

The position requires expertise in embedded systems, protocol standards, and mobile telecommunications. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for debugging and resolving IMS/Telephony issues from certification, field testing, and customer feedback in the region. Your responsibilities will include validating functionality and performance of IMS/Telephony features for Pixel projects to maintain Android/Modem software quality.

The role combines technical expertise with collaborative skills, as you'll work with regional carriers to meet commercial product requirements and support certification processes. Responsibilities For Firmware Engineer, Modem IP Multimedia Subsystem Protocol

  • Develop and customize Android/Modem software to meet customer and project requirements in IMS/Telephony domain
  • Analyze and fix the Android/Modem IMS protocol issues
  • Work with region carriers to meet customer's commercial product requirements
  • Support in the carrier labs/sites to resolve important issues and get certification
  • Collaborate with cross-layer teams and cross-organization teams to deliver quality Pixel Android/Modem Software
  • Generate ideas, develop features, build Software/Hardware systems or improve engineering processes

Requirements For Firmware Engineer, Modem IP Multimedia Subsystem Protocol

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in coding with programming language (e.g., C/C++)
  • Experience with Long Term Evolution (LTE) or 5G NRSA
  • Experience in IP Multimedia Subsystem, embedded Real-Time Operating System (RTOS)
