Description For GPU Silicon Architect

Google is seeking a GPU Silicon Architect to join their team developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. This role combines the best of Google's AI, Software, and Hardware capabilities to create innovative experiences.

As a GPU Silicon Architect, you'll be responsible for defining GPU cores for the Tensor System on Chip (SOC) based on workload analysis. You'll collaborate with Machine Learning, GPU Software, Android, and device teams to optimize the overall Tensor SoC and software stack for GPU workloads. The role requires deep expertise in computer architecture concepts and GPU workload optimization.

The position offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $132,000-$189,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that impacts millions of users worldwide through Google's products.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience with computer architecture concepts and a strong background in System Architecture or GPU Workload Analysis. Knowledge of Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenCL, Android OS, and ARM-based system architecture concepts is highly valued. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required, with advanced degrees preferred.

Responsibilities For GPU Silicon Architect

  • Define Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) cores for the Tensor System on a Chip (SOC) based on GPU workload analysis
  • Work with Google Machine Learning (ML), GPU Software, Android and device teams to bring compelling experiences leveraging GPUs to Google
  • Optimize the overall Tensor SoC and software stack for GPU workloads
  • Propose architectural features/requirements for GPU to better integrate GPU with Tensor SOC to improve overall performance

Requirements For GPU Silicon Architect

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience with computer architecture concepts, including microarchitecture, cache hierarchy, pipelining, and memory subsystems
  • Experience with System Architecture or GPU Workload Analysis and Optimization
