Information Security Engineer II

As an Information Security Engineer at Google, you will help ensure that software and systems are designed and implemented to security standards. You will perform technical security assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability testing to highlight risk, helping Google teams and partners to improve security. You will work on a wide variety of software designs and technology stacks, and collaborate with other Google Engineers to design and build proactive methods to enhance security posture.

The role involves:

• Performing technical security assessments, code audits, and design reviews
• Developing technical solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities
• Advocating for security and secure practices throughout Google
• Conducting research to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in Google's products and services

You will work with the Security team to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. This includes working with network equipment, actively monitoring systems for attacks and intrusions, and collaborating with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 1 year of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling
• 1 year of coding experience in one or more general-purpose languages
• Experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols
• Knowledge of threat modeling, risk assessments, or security assessments of systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with engineering projects involving cross-functional collaboration
