Description For Manufacturing Test Development Engineer

Join Google's Manufacturing Operations team as a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of developing custom silicon solutions that power Google's direct-to-consumer products. This role combines software development and hardware testing expertise to ensure the quality and reliability of Google's infrastructure components.

You'll be responsible for evaluating product designs and creating manufacturing test processes, tools, and procedures crucial to Google's technology. Working closely with contract manufacturers, you'll ensure manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. The role involves collaboration with commodity managers and design engineers to meet infrastructure needs and product specifications.

The position requires strong technical skills in Python programming, test development, and manufacturing processes. You'll be writing test plans, developing automated test scripts, and building test platforms for global manufacturing partners. Problem-solving is key as you'll analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing yield issues and implement preventive measures.

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Test Development Engineer

  • Provide test engineering support to contract manufacturer partners. Support manufacturing test development for new and existing hardware designs
  • Write test plans and drive test coverage based on product requirements and develop automated test scripts for functional tests, software installation and burn-in using Python
  • Design, build and deploy test platforms for Google's global manufacturing partners
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and root cause manufacturing yield issues and field escapes. Drive issues to closure with preventive measures
  • Define the manufacturing test strategy for new products and work with our partners to jointly develop the required test solutions

Requirements For Manufacturing Test Development Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing test development or a similar role
  • 1 year of experience in Python
