Google's Manufacturing Operations team is seeking a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer to join their Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO) team. This role is crucial in evaluating Machine Learning, Compute and Storage, and Networking rack product designs while creating manufacturing test processes, tools, and procedures for Google's Cloud Hardware Technologies.
The position involves working with one of the largest and most powerful computing infrastructures in the world. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be responsible for evaluating product designs and creating processes that support Google's state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. You'll work closely with vendors during parts manufacturing, ensuring processes are repeatable and controlled.
The role requires collaboration with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine infrastructure needs and product specifications. Key responsibilities include developing automated test software, conducting code reviews, debugging test failures, and designing test platforms for global manufacturing partners. - Support manufacturing test development for new and existing hardware designs
- Define the manufacturing test strategy for new products
- Develop automated test software for functional tests
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and root cause manufacturing yield issues and field escapes
- Identify DFT opportunities and collaborate with design engineering
Requirements For Manufacturing Test Engineering, Rack Integration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing
- Experience in embedded software or test automation with Python
- Experience with developing manufacturing test hardware using electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals in PCIe, Ethernet, and TCP/IP
- Ability to generate product-specific test plans and execute testing accordingly
