Google's Platforms Team is seeking a Photonic Engineer to join their Machine Learning Systems division, focusing on developing cutting-edge optical interconnect technologies for TPU systems. This role sits at the intersection of optical engineering and machine learning, working within the ML, Systems & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization that powers all Google services and Google Cloud.

The position involves creating next-generation optical interconnect technologies, collaborating with both optics and machine learning teams to develop technology roadmaps for scaling future machine learning systems. You'll be working on designing low-cost, high-speed optical transceivers for data center applications and scaling TPU/GPU superpods.
