Description For Program Manager, Data Center Retrofits Construction

Google is seeking a Program Manager for Data Center Retrofits Construction to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. This role involves managing large-scale technical projects in the rapidly changing data center industry. The ideal candidate will provide management of data centers, computer farms, networking, AC and DC power distribution/conversion, and cooling methods at multiple scales.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing data center projects from inception to completion
  • Supporting research and development experiments, renovations, and upgrades of existing facilities
  • Gathering internal requirements and delivering solutions that satisfy customer needs
  • Maintaining responsibility from construction to deployment
  • Resolving critical issues while adhering to project timelines and costs

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or equivalent practical experience, with 5 years of experience in program or project management, technical teams in data centers or mission critical facilities, and expertise in electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, or networking/fiber.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in a related technical field, 8 years of experience with data center equipment/environments, and strong skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, and vendor relationship management.

Google offers a competitive salary range of $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits, determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and work location.
