Description For Program Manager II, Infrastructure Capacity Planning, Google Cloud

Google is seeking a Program Manager II for Infrastructure Capacity Planning in Google Cloud. This role involves leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate with cross-functional partners across the company. The team's goal is to understand and systematically codify Alphabet's data center capacity needs and allocate capacity to product areas accordingly.

The Technical Infrastructure team builds the architecture behind everything users see online, developing and maintaining data centers and building the next generation of Google platforms. This role is crucial in ensuring Google has the right amount of data center capacity to meet the needs of Product Areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning requirements with internal customers and managing projects through the entire lifecycle
  • Working on projects spanning offices, time zones, and hemispheres
  • Collaborating with all organizational levels to define project requirements
  • Providing leadership across functional teams and evaluating capacity forecast data

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 2 years of experience in program or project management, and experience in supply chain areas such as supply planning, demand planning, capacity planning, or operations planning.

Responsibilities For Program Manager II, Infrastructure Capacity Planning, Google Cloud

  • Plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project life-cycle, including managing project schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders
  • Work on projects that often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and keep the teams coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines
  • Ensure that Google has the right amount of data center capacity to meet the needs of Product Areas
  • Collaborate with all organizational levels to define project requirements for new processes and software systems, coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive decision making, and plan for scalable, efficient, and predictable growth
  • Provide leadership across functional teams, lead projects to completion, evaluate capacity forecast data, and understand technical topics affecting Google services and users

Requirements For Program Manager II, Infrastructure Capacity Planning, Google Cloud

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience in supply chain such as: supply planning, demand planning, capacity planning, operations planning, inventory improvement, or management/operations consulting
