Description For Reverse Engineer, Mandiant

Google Cloud is seeking a Reverse Engineer for their Mandiant team to strengthen their security capabilities. This role combines technical expertise in malware analysis with security engineering to protect Google's vast infrastructure. The position offers a competitive base salary range of $141,000-$202,000 plus additional benefits including equity and medical insurance.

As a Reverse Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of analyzing and defending against sophisticated cyber threats. Your work will directly support various teams including Mandiant Consulting, Managed Defense, and Google Threat Intelligence. The role requires expertise in static and dynamic malware analysis, strong programming skills in languages like Golang or Python, and deep understanding of assembly language and debugging tools.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience and a background in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. Key technical skills include working with disassemblers, debuggers, and understanding complex code structures. Knowledge of PE-COFF, ELF, and common network protocols is highly valued.

  • Perform static and dynamic malware analysis on a wide variety of platforms, architectures, and runtimes
  • Write technical malware reports to support intrusion investigations
  • Develop plugins to extract malware configuration from varied malware families
  • Participate in research and development tasks for existing research initiatives
