Security Engineer, Cloud Threat and Abuse Detection

Google Cloud is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Cloud Threat and Abuse Detection team. This role is crucial in maintaining the security of Google's cloud infrastructure and protecting against various cyber threats. As part of Google's Security team, you'll work to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. The position involves actively monitoring systems for attacks and intrusions, while collaborating with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

The role combines hands-on security engineering with threat detection and response. You'll be responsible for researching and implementing new detection techniques to prevent and mitigate various forms of abuse, including DDoS attacks, botnets, and other malicious activities that violate GCP's Terms of Service. The position requires strong analytical skills for analyzing network traffic, logs, and developing high-fidelity detection systems.
