Google is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Enterprise Infrastructure Protection team, focusing on Network Infrastructure Security. This role is integral to maintaining Google's commitment to security across its infrastructure and products. The position combines technical security expertise with hands-on engineering work to protect Google's vast network and infrastructure assets.
As part of the Core team, you'll work on the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, helping to build central solutions and strengthen existing systems. You'll be responsible for creating and assessing infrastructure designs, ensuring resilience against attacks, and contributing to Google's overall security posture.
The role offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Located in New York, you'll be part of Google's global security team, working on critical infrastructure protection initiatives.
This position requires a strong background in security engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in security assessments, design reviews, and threat modeling. You'll need coding proficiency and deep understanding of network security protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience with Google access control systems and security principles like AuthN/AuthZ.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer, Enterprise Infrastructure Protection, Network Infrastructure Security
- Create and assess infrastructure designs, systems, and access policy enforcement points across all levels of the stack with a focus on lower layers
- Ensure infrastructure is resilient against attacks and abuse
- Make technical, process, and project contributions to identifying risks, improving the security posture of Google, and enabling management of security controls for Alphabet's use
- Write feature requests and influence security improvements in the products to enable secure enterprise use at scale
- Consult on topics of network and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, authentication, authorization, access control, and risk
Requirements For Security Engineer, Enterprise Infrastructure Protection, Network Infrastructure Security
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews or threat modeling
- 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
- 2 years of experience with coding in one or more languages
