Google's Chrome Product Security team is seeking a Security Engineer III to join their team focused on maintaining critical security operations. This role is integral to Chrome's security infrastructure, combining hands-on security engineering with strategic security oversight. The position involves managing vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and improving security processes for one of the world's most widely-used web browsers.

As a Security Engineer III, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of security operations within Chrome, from vulnerability management to incident response. You'll work closely with both the Product Security team and the broader Chrome Security organization to maintain and enhance security processes. The role requires expertise in security assessments, vulnerability management, and security bug triage.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer III, Chrome Product Security

  • Support Chrome's vulnerability life-cycle and security operations
  • Support efforts working across Chrome Security in identifying risks, driving security outcomes, and creating executive briefings for Chrome leadership
  • Support key security outreach efforts, such as security post-mortem processes and security advocacy
  • Participate in incident response of Chrome security incidents
  • Reproduce, validate, and triage reports of security issues from internal teams, automation, and external security reporters

Requirements For Security Engineer III, Chrome Product Security

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
  • 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
  • 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
