Description For Security Engineer III, Chrome Product Security

Google's Chrome Product Security team is seeking a Security Engineer III to join their team focused on maintaining critical security operations. This role combines hands-on security engineering with strategic security initiatives for Chrome. You'll be responsible for vulnerability management, incident response, and security update release management while working with the broader Chrome Security team.

The position requires expertise in security assessments, vulnerability investigation, and practical coding experience. You'll play a crucial role in Chrome's security infrastructure by managing the vulnerability lifecycle, coordinating security responses, and driving security outcomes through various channels including bug bounty programs and security outreach efforts.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer III, Chrome Product Security

  • Support Chrome's vulnerability life-cycle and security operations
  • Support efforts working across Chrome Security in identifying risks, driving security outcomes, and creating executive briefings for Chrome leadership
  • Support key security outreach efforts, such as security post-mortem processes and security advocacy
  • Participate in incident response of Chrome security incidents
  • Reproduce, validate, and triage reports of security issues from internal teams, automation, and external security reporters

Requirements For Security Engineer III, Chrome Product Security

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
  • 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
  • 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
