Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering for BigQuery Generative AI to lead the development of Machine Learning and GenAI powered data analytics products. This role involves leading multiple teams, collaborating with product managers and designers, and staying current with the latest trends in Data Analytics and AI. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering leadership, Machine Learning, AI, and Large Language Models (LLM), with a focus on data processing and creation. They will be responsible for setting strategy, influencing roadmaps, and ensuring GenAI is fully utilized to create innovative features for BigQuery.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead multiple teams covering the spectrum of data analytics from organization to results • Collaborate with product management to define product roadmaps • Work with designers to create user-friendly data analytics interfaces • Ensure alignment of GenAI-powered products with overall business goals • Stay updated on the latest trends in Data Analytics and AI
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (PhD preferred) or equivalent experience, with 15 years of professional experience in engineering leadership and 5 years of experience working with ML, AI, and LLMs. The ideal candidate should have experience in hyper-growth entrepreneurial environments, scaling new products, and working with executive-level clients and partners.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $323,000-$465,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits, with specific compensation determined by location and other factors. - Lead several teams covering the whole spectrum of data analytics from data organization and data exploration to results
- Work closely with product management to define the product roadmap and ensure that GenAI is used to its full potential
- Collaborate with designers to create user-friendly and intuitive data analytics interfaces
- Work with other stakeholders to ensure that GenAI-powered data analytics products are aligned with the company's overall business goals
