Google is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their AI Systems Security team, offering a competitive base salary range of $166,000-$244,000 plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The position focuses on enhancing AI/ML security through technical vulnerability research, system analysis, and security assessments. As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for participating in security design reviews, providing expert guidance on secure architecture for ML systems, and implementing security improvements for keystone Libraries, Frameworks, and Services. The role requires a strong background in security engineering, with 5 years of experience in security assessments, design reviews, and coding.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in machine learning frameworks (such as JAX and TensorFlow), cloud platforms, and distributed systems. You'll be working on cutting-edge challenges in AI security, developing tools and automation to improve the security posture of ML infrastructure, and implementing practical hardening measures based on threat modeling.

- Participate in security design reviews and provide expert guidance on secure architecture for ML systems
- Collaborate with engineers across Google's AI and ML infrastructure teams
- Drive the remediation of vulnerabilities discovered through security reviews
- Design, develop, and implement practical hardening measures based on threat modeling
- Develop tools, automation, and secure by default configurations
Requirements For Senior Security Engineer, AI Systems Security
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
- 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
- 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
- 1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., JAX, TensorFlow) or ML infrastructure components preferred
- Experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, or infrastructure preferred
- Knowledge of threat modeling, risk assessments, or security assessments of systems preferred
- Ability to read, understand, and analyze code as well as write small tools and scripts
