Senior Security Engineer, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their team. This role involves creating and maintaining the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you'll work with network equipment, actively monitor systems for attacks and intrusions, and collaborate with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading parser design and development for security log types and formats
2. Testing and debugging parser issues related to mappings, performance, and validations
3. Guiding vendor teams in developing gold standard parsers for security logs
4. Developing and maintaining high-quality fetchers and log parsers for processing petabytes of heterogeneous data from various sources

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling
• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols
• 5+ years of coding experience in general-purpose languages
• 1+ year of experience leading technical teams or technical risk analysis in enterprise environments

Preferred qualifications include:

• 6+ years of experience in Parser development, Security Analysis, Networking, Windows, TCP/IP, Security, and Command-Line Interface
• Experience with SIEM and SOAR automation for efficient SOC operations
• Experience in software development/scripting with Python, Javascript, and Go
