Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) is a unique project in Cloud, with its core component Kubernetes being open source and maintained by the team. As a Senior Security Engineer for GKE, you'll focus on securing and hardening the Kubernetes and GKE service using a risk-based approach. You'll work on protecting network boundaries, hardening systems against attacks, and safeguarding sensitive data. Your responsibilities include identifying security issues, implementing controls and tools, leading the team in developing secure practices, partnering with other Security teams to build threat detection strategies, and reviewing designs for security gaps. You'll use your industry experience to drive the resolution of complex security incidents and technical issues. This role requires a mix of hands-on security engineering, leadership, and strategic thinking to improve the overall security posture of GKE.

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience • 5+ years of experience in security assessments, design reviews, or threat modeling • 5+ years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security • 5+ years of coding experience in general-purpose languages • 1+ year of experience leading technical teams or risk analysis • Experience with Kubernetes
