Senior Software Engineer, Information Security Engineering

Google's Information Security Engineering team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Core team focused on security and reliability. This role is part of the organization that aims to make it easy for Google, Alphabet and the world to ship secure products and keep users safe. The team focuses on security research and mitigations, including threats at the boundary between Security and Reliability to prevent multi-region critical disruption to Alphabet infrastructure and services.

As a member of the Core team, you'll be responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, working on underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. The role involves reviewing and developing secure operational practices, conducting security reviews, researching vulnerabilities, and collaborating across teams to implement solutions.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of software development experience with strong knowledge of data structures/algorithms and security engineering. You'll need excellent communication skills and the ability to work across organizational boundaries, as you'll be influencing without direct authority. The role offers opportunities to impact critical technical decisions across Google while working on challenging security and reliability problems at massive scale.
