Description For Senior Software Engineer, V8 Security

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their V8 Security team, focusing on the security aspects of the V8 JavaScript engine used in Chrome. This role combines software engineering expertise with security specialization, working on critical components that ensure the safety and reliability of one of the world's most widely-used browsers.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, V8 Security

  • Write and test product or system development code
  • Guide design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies
  • Develop and maintain the V8 fuzzers
  • Work new ways of guiding fuzzers through better metrics and better detection of V8 invariant violations
  • Help triage bugs found through the various fuzzers

Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, V8 Security

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms
  • 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture
  • Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Swift)
