Senior Staff Datacenter Engineer, Electrical Engineering

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Datacenter Engineer specializing in Electrical Engineering to join their Data Center Engineering team. This role is part of the Technical Infrastructure team, responsible for developing and maintaining Google's data centers and building the next generation of Google platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mission-critical facility design and construction environments, with expertise in electrical infrastructure. They will be responsible for defining data center system-level and product architecture, conducting engineering analysis, and ensuring designs meet requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Defining data center system-level, product architecture, and Research and Development
2. Developing operations and maintenance procedures for systems/processes
3. Conducting engineering analysis and research designs for data center equipment and facilities
4. Ensuring designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns)

The role requires a visionary approach to optimizing efficiencies and seeking improvements, even small changes that can make a huge impact. The engineer will generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives, and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $208,000-$296,000 + bonus + equity + benefits, with the final compensation determined by factors such as work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
