Senior Staff Research Scientist, Google Cloud AI

Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud's mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.

As a Senior Staff Research Scientist at Google Cloud AI, you will be responsible for setting up large-scale tests and deploying promising ideas quickly and broadly. You'll manage deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. Your work will span the breadth of computer science, including machine learning, deep learning, data mining, natural language processing, and more.

You'll actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects as well as collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes worldwide. This role requires a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 6 years of experience leading research agendas across multiple teams or projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coding, particularly in Python, JavaScript, R, Java, or C++. You'll be expected to author research papers, contribute to research growth by sharing trends and best practices, deliver full projects, identify new research areas, and address undefined problems in existing technology.
