Description For Software Engineer II, Ambient Platform

Google is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Ambient Platform team, focusing on developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users worldwide. This role is part of Google's Android team, which powers more than 3 billion devices globally. The position requires expertise in embedded systems and software development, with opportunities to work on critical projects across the full technology stack.

The ideal candidate will contribute to Google's mission of bringing computing to everyone in the world through Android's open-source mobile operating system. You'll be working on embedded operating systems and device-level software, requiring strong programming skills particularly in C/C++ and understanding of hardware architecture.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer II, Ambient Platform

  • Write product or system development code
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues

Requirements For Software Engineer II, Ambient Platform
