Description For Software Engineer III, Security and Privacy

Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their Security and Privacy team within the Core organization. This role is crucial in building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, focusing on security and privacy aspects. The position involves working on large-scale software systems, implementing memory safety techniques, and collaborating with various product teams.

As part of the Core team, you'll have the unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company. The role combines hands-on development with research aspects, requiring expertise in security, privacy, and system design. You'll be working on implementing new techniques for extremely large-scale software systems and collaborating with Google's Memory Safety program.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in software development, particularly in security and privacy domains. Knowledge of programming languages like Rust and C++ is valuable, as is experience with data structures, algorithms, and API development. Requirements For Software Engineer III, Security and Privacy

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • 2 years of experience building software for data privacy or security
  • Experience developing APIs and integrating third-party services
