Description For Staff Silicon System Architect

Google is seeking a Staff Silicon System Architect to join their Silicon System Architecture team, focusing on developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. This role requires deep expertise in computing architecture, Performance, Power, Area (PPA) tradeoffs, and SoC audio/speech/ambient workloads analysis. The position involves working on the Tensor SoC, proposing and designing architecture specifications for innovative solutions, and collaborating with design and software implementation teams.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ambient computing, audio processing, sensors processing, Machine Learning, and wireless connectivity on Mobile/Embedded SoCs. They will be responsible for driving system architecture decisions across Software/Hardware teams, building consensus, and translating ideas into architecture specifications. The role combines aspects of hardware architecture, software integration, and system-level optimization.

This is an opportunity to shape the next generation of Google's hardware experiences, working at the intersection of AI, software, and hardware. The position offers competitive compensation including base salary, bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The role is based in Mountain View, CA, and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver advanced use cases powered by Google's AI research.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the entire lifecycle of technology development – from initial research and proof-of-concept to product implementation. They will need to employ data-driven approaches to guide architectural decisions and solve challenging system design problems, often under ambiguous requirements.
