Staff Systems Development Engineer, Google Distributed Cloud

Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) offers a platform for air-gapped environments, supporting training, development, and operational validation. As a Staff Systems Development Engineer for Google Distributed Cloud, you will be responsible for managing services and systems at scale. You will creatively use your engineering discipline to automate mundane tasks and reduce toil. The role emphasizes the development of tools and solutions that fix classes of problems, focusing on observability and turning data into knowledge and action.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Guiding a team of infrastructure operators in daily operations
2. Managing the customer zero platform
3. Providing actionable feedback to the Product team
4. Working closely with platform administrators
5. Deploying and managing Google Distributed Cloud environments

You will need a strong background in systems automation, technical infrastructure, and experience with Linux Administration, Kubernetes, Networking, or Storage. Scripting experience in languages like Bash, Perl, Python, or Ruby is essential for automating routine tasks.
