Description For Staff UX Program Manager, Consumer Shopping

UX Programs & Operations at Google drive projects within our UX organizations by increasing communication and connection points, streamlining the UX design process, and driving a culture of user centered development.

As a Staff UX Program Manager for Consumer Shopping, you will combine expert project management skills with a passion for user experience to help your team improve the design of products that are used by billions of users. You'll plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure projects meet deadlines. You'll harmonize the work of UX Designers, Researchers, Content Strategists, UX Engineers, and other UX disciplines, while also working closely with Engineering and Product Manager cross-functional partners.

The Consumer Shopping UX team designs, researches and collaboratively builds Google's suite of Shopping products. People shop on Google more than a billion times a day, and the Commerce team is responsible for building the experiences that serve these users. The mission for Google Commerce is to be an essential part of the shopping journey for consumers - from inspiration to a simple and secure checkout experience - and the best place for retailers/merchants to connect with consumers.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Lead or collaborate with UX team leadership in key project decision-making.
  2. Provide leadership and operational excellence across teams.
  3. Identify team needs with regards to process, tools, documentation, and asset management.
  4. Identify and execute on opportunities to help the team scale their velocity and impact.
  5. Provide clear communication to cross-functional team leads and executive management.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 10 years of experience managing and scaling UX related programs, and expertise in UX disciplines and user-centered development methodologies.

  • Provide clear communication to cross-functional team leads and executive management regarding goals, project status, resource requirements, issues, and priorities

Requirements For Staff UX Program Manager, Consumer Shopping

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience managing and scaling UX related programs and driving operational efforts across organizations
  • Experience with UX disciplines and user-centered development tools and methodologies
  • Experience analyzing data and leveraging insights to develop solutions
  • Experience in working to improve the velocity/productivity of teams, products, and systems
