As a Systems Development Engineer at Google Public Sector, you will be responsible for taking commercial products through installation, deployment, and proof of concepts. You will work with Operations, Program Management Office, and Engineering teams to design, deploy, and manage enterprise solutions.
Key responsibilities include deploying and configuring air-gapped cloud solutions like Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), managing multiple technologies such as network switches, firewalls, storage systems, and servers, and deploying IT infrastructure for Operations Centers. You will also troubleshoot issues, collaborate with engineering teams, and work on improving deployment and management processes.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an IT-related field (or equivalent experience), 5 years of experience with Linux and cloud infrastructure, and an active Top Secret/SCI US Government Security Clearance with polygraph. The ideal candidate will have experience in data center operations, knowledge of enterprise-grade operating systems, Kubernetes, and network administration, as well as an understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and hardening practices.
